Mary Ann Bodnar

Licensed Mental Health Counselor

I worked in both the public and non-profit substance abuse treatment communities for several years prior to working in a local private substance abuse treatment center. I served as a primary therapist, Director of the women’s program, Clinical Director, and finally as the Chief Executive Officer at this center

I have extensive experience in counseling medical and legal professionals with addictions and trauma issues. I am also very familiar with the unique situations faced by those associated with the military, having raised a family as a military dependent spouse.

I have received training in the Gottman methods and Emotionally Focused Therapy. I work with couples to improve their relationships. I have experience working with couples in a mixed orientation marriage. . Recognizing a shortage of counselors with the understanding of the dynamics involved in these types of relationships and who can provide counseling I have been actively involved in support groups for such couples. I specialize in sex addiction and offer both a men's recovery group and a partner's group for healing the trauma related to betrayal and acting out behaviors.
